CP: Roger… [このあたり聞き取れず、だそうです in 3 sets today, we had the impression it was difficult to finish it against Gael today given his great court coverage.
RF: Yes, not just to finish, but to play against him is the same. It’s always difficult. I experienced that Bercy, where I lost. He’s a great player, so I knew the danger of this quarter-final. Of course, I’m very relieved, very pleased to be in the semi-finals at Roland Garros again, it gives me a lot of pleasure. Thank you to Gael, he played a great tournament and I’m happy for him too. (applause and cheers from the crowd)
CP: You know that we all love you here, me first of all. But it’s the third time you’ve beaten Gael [RGと言ったのかも], the last French representative.
RF: I know. He’s still young, he’ll have a lot more opportunities than me; I have to take them when I can. It’s true, I’ve always played well against him here, each time I even thought that he would be more difficult and more dangerous, or that he was even going to beat me, but each time I managed to put in a very good performance. The conditions were very difficult today; it was cool, a lot of wind. It wasn’t our best match, but it was good all the same. (cheers/applause from the crowd)
CP: We had the impression that your game plan today was to play as quickly as possible, to prevent him from getting organized and balancing [unleashing?] his big forehand.
RF: Yes, he has many possibilities. We saw him against Ferrer, he can play the long rallies, I think he had a few difficulties with his serve today with the wind, maybe with the ball toss [このあたり聞き取れず、だそうです] It was an advantage for me, and maybe that made the little difference.
CP: Here you are, you’ve qualified for the semi-finals against Djokovic – an explosive semi-final.
RF: Explosive, I don’t know. It’s nice. (crowd starts to cheer) I don’t know if it’s explosive, but it’s clear that… (interrupted by loud cheering)
CP: Anyway I have the impression that they [the crowd] are going to be for you, huh?
RF: Yes, that would be nice, but I don’t count on it. If you’re all there behind me, that would be great (crowd cheering even louder!) but, otherwise, there are those who like… (loud cheers continue)
CP: Ah yes. Listen to them!
RF: Yes. Already, just playing semi-finals at Roland Garros is a great moment, afterwards, playing against another great player is why we train hard. I think I have two rest days, but in any case I feel physically perfect, and I’m delighted for this great match.
CP: Do you think that the fact that Djokovic didn’t play a quarter-final is going to have an effect on him?
RF: Honestly, I don’t think it’ll have too much. I know there’s been quite a bit of debate, is it good, it it bad for him? I experienced it once, at Wimbledon, I think before the match against Grosjean. I had six-and-a-half days off. There you are. (Crowd laughs, Roger gives a little laugh.) Because Tommy Haas pulled an abdominal muscle, there was the rain, and afterwards... well, it was like that. I think it’s an advantage [didn’t quite catch this next part, he said something about not playing badly this year, I couldn’t make out if he was talking about himself or Djokovic] It’s going to be a good match; the best one is going to win and we’ll see who that will be.
CP: In any case, very good luck to you, Roger. (crowd applauds)

- Are you particularly happy about you rgame today given the tough conditions. It couldn't be easy to play...
Yes, of course I'm happy. 3 sets to love against Gael in Paris, no matter the conditions, I'm always happy honestly. It's true that with the tough start where I get broken with 2 DFs, I did have a few problems with the wind on the serve. I'm happy I found myself again, and in the end I did a good match in tough conditions. And there were changes, I got broken I think once in each set, so it shows it wasn't the match "There, I arrive, I break at the beginning and win in 3 easy sets". It was really more of a tough match where I don0t just play Gael but also the wind and the conditions. So in the end I'm very happy and relieved about my performance today.
- In L'Equipe today Wilander says he thinks you're playing your best claycourt tennis in this tournement. Do you agree, compared to previous years?
Hmm, I don't know...I mean, I haven't lost a set yet which means something, but it doesn't tell you everything either. I think the draw was tough for the best 3 but we're all still here so it shows we're in good shape. You know, sometimes we can all play well at the same time, even if only one wins the tournement in the end, sometimes people forget that you know. So that's a bit the hard part in the sport, in tennis, only one can win. At this moment, I'm very happy with my performance, but it's really there that I'd like to play my best afterall, against the best players like Gael, Stan or Djokovic, so I hope I still have some ressources.
